IGNITE TEACHES | Sara Silvis

Sara was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin. She began dancing at age 3 exploring jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary throughout her training. She graduated with a BFA in dance through University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, working closely with faculty and guest artists during her time there. Sara was a former company member of contemporary dance company, Water Street Dance Milwaukee, performing company repertoire throughout the Midwest.

Sara will be teaching a contemporary class. She creates a safe space for students to find their voice as movement artists. In her class students are asked to come as they are while encouraging them to focus on their visceral experience by creating prompts that explore texture and musicality through improvisation and choreography.
